Esme's Winter Cottage and Other Crochet Pattern Links

If you have read any of the Sophie's Universe posts, you know that I am a huge fan of pattern designer extraordinaire Dedri Uys at:
Look at What I Made
A few days ago, I received a newsletter from Dedri that contained a link to a new pattern. The pattern is called "Esme's Winter Cottage," and makes a 12″ Crochet Square.

Esme's Winter Cottage
Looking at the pattern, it has a wintry feel to me - the tight-knit pattern makes me think it will be nice and warm on cold winter nights.

These two blocks were made with Worsted Weight Yarn (#4) - Stonewashed XL yarn and crocheted with a 5.5 mm hook (US 9/I; UK 5). Colors, instructions, and tutorial links can be found by clicking on the link below the photo to go to the site.

Esme is the "sister" to another Dedri Uys design: "Linen Stitch Manghan Pattern."

Linen Stitch Manghan
This manghan is also made with Worsted Weight Yarn (#4) - Stonewashed XL yarn. She used an 8 mm hook (US 11/L) to crochet the squares and a 6 mm hook (US 10/J; UK 4) for joining the squares together. Click on the link below the photo for the instructions and other information.

Regular Crochet Linen Stitch Square
Mix and match these 6" squares. For this project, Dedri used Worsted Weight Yarn (#4) - Stonewashed XL yarn and an 8 mm hook (US 11/L). Colors, instructions, and tutorial links can be found by clicking on the link below the photo to go to the site.

I have never done the linen stitch before, so I look forward to learning something new... after the 212 other projects ahead of this one. (I exaggerate by about 200!)

I will be sharing more of her pattern photos and links over the next week, so come back soon!

Enjoy!
