I was asked to write about life hacks. The first topic that popped into my mind is uses for over-the-door shoe holders. Are they just for shoes? No, not in the least. Mine has some shoes, but it also has a belt, tights, and trouser socks. I limit the number of shoes, so I do not need a whole organizer for my shoes. (I am not judging others who have a lot of pairs of shoes.)
I looked up some ideas for these organizers, so here are some of my favorites.
Real Simple magazine recommends using one so it is easy to find small pantry items.
Urban Greenery gives directions on how to turn a shoe organizer into an herb garden. I am not a gardener, but I think even I could do this.
Fashionable Home shows a shoe organizer being used to corral cleaning supplies. If you have a little one in the house, be sure to store cleaning supplies where little hands cannot get them.
Indulgy.com posted a picture of a shoe organizer being used to organize children's books. Follow the link to see the picture.
Blogger Lara, of overstuffedlife.com, uses one to store her daughter's American Girl doll clothes.
Other ideas include stuffed animals, lingerie organizer, craft/office/school supplies, sewing patterns, and a fabric holder. I am considering using one as a yarn holder for the Sophie's Universe I am working on.
