Once again, All Free Crochet brought to my attention a beautiful rainbow-colored afghan. I was drawn in by the colors and because it has cables. I was surprised that, by happenstance, the pattern was created by Dedri from:
This one’s name is Cable and Bobble Stitch (Lienke's Lovey). Once again, I contacted Dedri, and she has graciously granted permission for me to post about this free pattern. If you decide to get the pattern, please let her know how you found her.
It has only been in the last few years that I learned cables can be crocheted as well as knitted. I am not a great knitter, so making knitted cables scares me. I am a decent crocheter, so crochet cables do not.
This is an advanced beginner crochet pattern, using a 17-color pack of yarn. While any yarn type and colors can be used, Dedri uses a yarn pack from British company Attic 24. Converting English pounds to US dollars brought the price to over $50, before shipping. After researching, I found this same color pack can be purchased from Deramores' ebay shop. The cost at both sites is $38.09, plus $6.35 shipping for the 17-color pack.
